    How these notes are written

Each article covers one part of the exam conditions: how the MCQ exam handles time and answers, what happens inside a clinical station, or what the AMC does and does not publish. Facts about format, rules and results are taken from the AMC’s own pages, and each article links to them so you can check the current version.

If you are new to the AMC, a useful reading order is: the MCQ article first, because the MCQ exam usually comes first on the standard pathway; then the clinical exam article, which covers the station clock and how to close a station; then the pass-rates article, which explains what the AMC publishes about results and what those figures can and cannot tell you about your own preparation.

The articles do not contain recalled exam questions and do not promise a result. For a longer overview, start with the AMC exam preparation guide, the guide for international medical graduates, the AMC Part 1 MCQ guide or the clinical OSCE guide.
